Our God is the Healer. He is Jehovah Rapha. “He sent out his word and healed them.” (Psalm 107:20) He is still healing people today. “By his stripes we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:5; I Peter 2:24)
As a child and servant of God, when you encounter sick and tormented people around you, what would you do? Are you moved with Jesus’ compassion for them? Do you want to see sick, depressed, terminally ill people delivered and healed from the pain in their bodies, from the suicidal thoughts in their minds, from the anguish and hopelessness in their souls, from the evil voices that haunt them day and night, from the wicked images that run rampant in their mind?
How do you pray for them? How do you heal them? Are you willing to do what Jesus has commanded you to do in the Word?
Many people when they have some types of sickness or diseases immediately think it’s from God; that God wants them to suffer; that God wants to discipline them and to punish them; that they need to bear the cross, endure the pain and suffering and give thanks. Some pray more and see no result. Does God have sickness and diseases to give to His children? No.
Sickness and diseases are not God’s gifts to his children. They are not from God. Acts 10:38 says, “Jesus went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil for God was with him.” God wants to heal his children who are being oppressed by the devil. Those who come to Jesus got healed. They are not disappointed. They went home rejoicing telling everybody what God has done for them.
Everyday when you interact with people, you need to listen to the Holy Spirit guiding you; when you talk to the people discern in your spirit and find out what the root cause of the sickness and disease. Is it demonic? Is it physio-biological? Is it emotional? Is it mental illness? Is it happening as a result of a sinful lifestyle or a willful disobedient heart?
Find out what they have opened themselves up to in the past and at the present moment? What do they need to repent of? When sin is confessed; when heart is repented; when demonic root cause is exposed by the truth of God’s Word and the Holy Spirit, then the people will be delivered in the name of Jesus. Joy and peace shall come to a person who is set free.
II Corinthians 2:11 says, “Do not be ignorant of the devices of the enemy. Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.” Isn’t it time for the people of God to rise up to a new level of awareness of spiritual warfare that Satan is the deceiver. He is still at work to deceive the world to follow him and to worship him.
The intense warfare is real; it’s raging on between the children of God and the demonic spirits. However, we are not afraid of them. Faith and fear cannot dwell in the same house. Are you equipping yourself and the people you serve with God’s truth so that they can stand firm and not fall prey to the devil. “Resist the devil, and he shall flee from you.” (James 4:7) You just have to remember that he is defeated. You have to believe the One who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
Indeed, you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free. Stand up tall. Stand firm on the Word. Be filled with the Holy Spirit and anointed with his power. Go in the name of Jesus and help people be set free.
Go tell them “The Kingdom of God is at hand.” Tell them that Jesus comes to seek and to save that which is lost. He is coming for sinners; he is looking for sick people to heal. He is searching for humble hearts and open minds to use.
Let’s fight the good fight. Finish the race. Keep the faith (II Timothy 4:7). God is counting on you and me. Our victory is sure for the Lord is fighting the battle for us. Sickness, disease, demons, evil and unclean spirits and Satan stand no chance against Jesus.
You and I need to keep our eyes on the Lord. Listen to his commands. Do what Jesus has commanded us. Let’s give him all the praise and glory and honor due His name.
