Overcoming grief

How would you feel? What would you do if you witness the fatal shooting of your daughter? How would you cope with the loss of a very young daughter whom you love? How well would you grieve? How would you overcome the grief and do not let it overcome you?

How would you feel toward God? Angry at God? Why didn't He protect your daughter from getting killed right in front of your eyes? How would you feel when you had to hold your dying daughter in your arms and rush her to the hospital hoping that she was going to make it? Why not it be me who was dead instead of my daughter?

How would you counsel a friend who is grieving with something this deep?

I thank God for the opportunity to help someone grieve today. Through prayer, through the reading of His Word, through the comfort of the Holy Spirit this friend got the help he needs to move forward, releasing her daughter into God's mighty hands.

With God's help it is possible to overcome any tragedy in life and to move forward with grace and strength.
