Retreating to Rest

We all need to have a special time to retreat to rest from the cares of life. It is important to us enough that we should have one. This important event is not to be neglected as long as we are in the line of duty. We need time to rest.

The pastors and spouses need to invest money to go to a retreat. The local church where one is serving can bless the pastor and his/her spouse with a blessing that will enable them to go.

Our connection and fellowship with one another are needed, and a meaningful place or special time to get together and to share our joys and concerns and to strengthen one another is critical. Many time, our life is so crowded with so many things already that we will not have any time left to meet, to call or to visit or to care.

It is important that we should have established some types of communication: tele-conference, phone calls, email or something that is personal and engaging to strengthen our dialogue with one another.

I am open. I am reaching out. I want to connect. I want to uplift someone, and be lifted up and encouraged by others as well. Yet at time, it seems silent. Dead silent. Is there anyone out there I wonder? It only takes a moment to show that you care in a big way.

Who and what is most important

There comes a point in your life when you realize

…who matters

…who never did

…who won't anymore

…and who always will.

So, don't worry about people from your past.

There is a reason why they didn't make it to your future.

Give this to everyone you don't want to lose in 2009.

Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

Love is the greatest gift of all.
Love God first, love your neighbors as you have loved yourself.
Love and be loved.
Love even your enemies and pray for them.
Forgive and be forgiven.
Give and receive.
Serve and be the servant-leader who leads with humility and integrity.

Expanding the Kingdom of God

It is always good to start a new ministry in a new city or state.

The Kingdom of God is at hand. The reign of God has come to a dark place to dispell the darkness and to bring people into the Kingdom of God. The power of the Holy Spirit has convicted sinners and drawn them to Christ.

The love and power of God have been demonstrated. It is exciting to see young people and those who have been working in other fields of service responded to the call of God to get trained and to become ministers of the Gospel.

It is always good and a right thing to do to develop young leaders from within the church to lead and to respond to God's call into full time ministry.

Who are going to step up to respond to the call of God to go to a place where nobody wants to go?

How are we preparing young people for the ministry? Are they in an environment to respond to the calling of God in their lives?

How do we start a new ministry?

How do we strengthen an existing ones?

How do we get off the welfare mentality of depending on the mother church to provide the resources, the fund?

Does the Bible ever teach us how to write for grants and apply for funds here and there and await for someone who is in charge of looking at the applications, deciding whoever to give the fund to and distributing the fund to a new or existing ministry?

What is the Spirit of God saying to the church today? Do we have ears to hear what the Spirit is saying to the Church?

Charging the Human Battery

An excerpt from
Charging The Human Battery
by Mac Anderson

Think about that. One choice, just one, can change your life forever. Simply put, your life today is what your choices have made it, but with new choices, you can change directions this very moment. For me, that idea alone is highly motivational because it offers tremendous hope, regardless of circumstances, for a better tomorrow.

Your life-changing choice may be to switch careers, to leave an abusive relationship, to go back to school, to stop drinking, to adopt a child, to start a business, to lose weight, to start a charity...to name a few. If you have the courage to do so, you could make any one of those choices, or others, today. And you would change your life.

Sometimes it's a different kind of choice. It can be to not quit, to not give up in the face of adversity. We've all been there.

Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hansen received 77 rejections for their idea Chicken Soup for the Soul. They had to make a decision each time...should they throw in the towel and say enough is enough, or should they keep trying to pursue their dreams? You know the rest of the story. The 78th publisher said “Yes” and they went on to sell over 100 million books.

So never forget that you are only one choice away from changing your life. Do you have the courage to make it?

***
What choices will you make today, this month, this year that will change your life, your family, your church, your community and the world?

What do you set your heart on to do as you are led by the Lord to do it?

If you know that you know you will not fail, what will you do differently today?

I pray the Lord to guide and to bless you and to cause you to be fruitful and effective in your daily living.

You can do it. The One who has begun a good work in you will complete it in the day of the Lord Jesus.

Go live your Spirit-filled life to the fullest in His power, in His love, in His strength. Go and impact someone else's life for all eternity with your decision NOW.

New Year service for people in need

Today is the first day of the New Year, and I had a chance to start a praise and worship service for the people that I care for.

After a few moments of singing praises, lifting up our voices to praise God, people opened up their hearts and began to worship God as they best know how. The Spirit of God moves among them and begins to soften their hearts. We read John 3:16 together and Romans 10:9-10. After listening to the Word of God, people began to ask for prayers.

I led 8 of them to pray together to receive God and Jesus Christ into their hearts. As their hands went up, I came to each one and anointed them with the oil and prayed for them asking God in the name of Jesus to set them free from oppression, from the things that hinder their walk with God.

One person commented that she experienced God's power moves through her, and another person agrees with her as well. You will hear more of these amazing stories of the great things God has done and will continue to do in the next coming months.

I thank God for He is faithful to do what He promises in His Word to do. I told them, "Repent, The Kingdom of God is at hand."

I believe great things will happen in our lives. What God has in store for those who dare to believe God at His Word will be done in His time.

I will continue to sow the seeds; in due season I shall reap what I sow abundantly.

What will you sow this year 2009? Have you started sowing already?

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to you and your families.

May you grow in Godly wisdom and understanding of His Word, His grace and His mercy. May you be blessed in every tangible and intangible ways. May His showers of blessings continue to pour down upon you, overflowing out of you to others.

May you be rich in His amazing love, filled with His presence, led by the Holy Spirit to do His will.

May the Lord God bless you abundantly to overflowing in His power and strength. May the Holy Spirit's anointing rest upon you and empower you to carry out His will.

May signs and wonders follow you and may He confirm His Words as you preach the Word faithfully day in and day out, in season and out of season.

May you be prosperous in every way as you seek the will of God for your lives and be obedient to Him who dwell in fullness in you.

Our Heavenly Father loves you so much. You are loved and cherished.

Sharing experiences in Deliverance ministry

What would a pastor do when confronted with a person who is manifesting demonic or evil activities?

What would a child of God do to help people who are having experiences like hearing voices in his/her head, suicidal thoughts, depressive moods, talking with a star, playing with Witchcraft, been around with people who use Voodoo, communicating with the dead, using mind control like Telepathy or talking praying to the Devil himself promising to give his/her life to the devil for some answer?

I am open to learn from you and your experiences in deliverance ministry so that I can use it appropriately in my ministry here.

Medical Emblem of Hermes and Aesclepius gods

How did the medical emblem of two snakes intertwined around a dagger originate?
Charles
New Kensington, Pennsylvania

Dear Charles:

"The serpentine staff you're referring to is called a caduceus. It has Greek origins -- Hermes, the messenger of the gods, carried it as a symbol of peace.
Ancient Greeks created the caduceus as a badge of honor; ambassadors and noblemen carried a long staff entwined with garlands or ribbons to announce their presence. The garlands were later interpreted as snakes, and a pair of wings was added to denote Hermes, the winged messenger.

Here's where it gets tricky. The U.S. Army medical corps adopted the caduceus as their insignia because of its similarity to the staff carried by Asclepius, the god of medicine. The staff of Asclepius is considered the "true symbol of medicine" -- it features only one snake, and no wings. It's the emblem of the American Medical Association.

The two symbols are quite similar in appearance, and both are derived from Greek mythology. The caduceus generally stands for peace, although it may also serve as a symbol of trade and communication, while the staff of Asclepius stands for healing."

*
The caduceus (☤) (/kəˈdjuːsiəs/, -ʃəs, -ˈduː-; κηρύκειον in Greek) or wand of Hermes is typically depicted as a short herald's staff entwined by two serpents in the form of a double helix, and sometimes surmounted by wings. In later Antiquity the caduceus may have provided the basis for the astrological symbol representing the planet Mercury and in Roman iconography was often depicted being carried in the left hand of the Greek god Hermes (Roman god, Mercury), the messenger of the gods, guide of the dead and protector of merchants, gamblers, liars and thieves.

The caduceus is sometimes used as a symbol for medicine, especially in North America, through confusion with the traditional medical symbol, the rod of Asclepius, which has only a single snake and no wings.

*Original Hippocratic oath, translated into English
“ I swear by Apollo, Asclepius, Hygieia, and Panacea, and I take to witness all the gods, all the goddesses, to keep according to my ability and my judgment, the following Oath.

To consider dear to me, as my parents, him who taught me this art; to live in common with him and, if necessary, to share my goods with him; To look upon his children as my own brothers, to teach them this art.

I will prescribe regimens for the good of my patients according to my ability and my judgment and never do harm to anyone.

I will not give a lethal drug to anyone if I am asked, nor will I advise such a plan; and similarly I will not give a woman a pessary to cause an abortion.

But I will preserve the purity of my life and my arts.

I will not cut for stone, even for patients in whom the disease is manifest; I will leave this operation to be performed by practitioners, specialists in this art.

In every house where I come I will enter only for the good of my patients, keeping myself far from all intentional ill-doing and all seduction and especially from the pleasures of love with women or with men, be they free or slaves.

All that may come to my knowledge in the exercise of my profession or in daily commerce with men, which ought not to be spread abroad, I will keep secret and will never reveal.

If I keep this oath faithfully, may I enjoy my life and practice my art, respected by all men and in all times; but if I swerve from it or violate it, may the reverse be my lot."

***
How does the medical science, modern medicine supported by biblical perspective?

How is biblical healing is understood by Christians today?

If medicine today originated from the Greek gods and if doctors' Hippocratic Oath is a pledge or promise to the gods of medicine, then what should Christian's view be in light of the Gospel?

Lessons learned from a race

Hi friends:

Yesterday, I started one of my New Year's goal with a Half-Marathon in Houston. I finished 5 marathons and a few half-marathons already. My long term goal is to stay fit and healthy all my life.

I decided to run this year since last year when I signed up for it. It's a goal I want to accomplish to get myself in good shape and also to prove it to myself that I can do it if I set my heart and mind to do. I realized now that the body just has to obey the decision from the heart and mind.

I felt so excited the night before. I did not eat dinner so that my body can be lighter. I slept early setting my alarm o'clock to 4:30 a.m. to wake up. I got my mind into a frame of mind that no matter what the temperature tomorrow may be, I will get out there and run it anyway. No matter how tired my body may be I will not quit. I will get it done. I will cross the finish line. With God's help I know I will. I did.

13.1 miles may not be a long distance; but it's a challenging 13.1 miles for any first timer because it's full of up and down; full of distractions with lots of cheers from runners, walkers and spectators. Full of dangers, filled with holes and cracks, uneven surfaces, slippery slopes and up-hills. They tested my will. They challenged my mind. They proved that I must know and believe that my body, my soul, my mind and spirit can and will achieve what I've set out to do.

Running among almost 20,000 runners, walkers, I must run the race alone. No one can do this for me. They can encourage me, but I have to do it by myself. It's a spiritual race for me as well. I have to put everything else aside. I have to drop every heavy weight and entanglement so that I can run free.

I know that God is on my side, talking, walking, running alongside of me, but I have to take one step at a time.

Through all the aches and pains and tiredness, I have to reach the finish line. The goal is always on my mind. The reward is there, a medal to prove it to myself one more time. The rest is there once I am done. I know it. The transport van was driving alongside us to see if anyone quit.

I don't start a race with quitting on my mind. Nobody does. It's not how well you start a race, but how well you finish one.

As I walk and run, I set my mind to tell my body to reach the next mile and the next mile. One mile at a time. One step at a time.

Then I broke that one-mile goal down to one hundred yard each time. I told my mind to tell my body to reach that one hundred yard a time. One after the other. It's fun, and it's a lot of lessons learned.

I learn that I first have to have a vision, a dream that I want to accomplish.
I believe that I can do it. I believe that I will cross the finish line.

I then learn that I must have a long term goal and short term goals.

Then I have to work to train my body, my mind to do it no matter what happens. My desire is to finish it, to cross the finish line with my head and hands raised. I can see myself crossing the finish line.

Then I just put my step down one at a time all the way to the finish line.

My body is recovered now. It feels so good to finish a goal and ready to set the next one. There are so many goals and dreams to accomplish. Life is wonderful, fill of awe and wonders.

I am setting my eyes on the next goal, on the next race in the next city.
What are your goals this year? What do you believe you can accomplish this year?
It's worth venturing out beyond the comfort zone and work hard to reach your goals and to realize your dreams.

Success is the progressive realization of a worthwhile goal.

My vision is to walk, run, dance with the Spirit of God and to go with Him wherever He may lead me. I am not afraid to try and to learn new things and to realize new goals.

I will push you up to success or down to disappointment.

I am at your command.

I am easily managed, just be firm with me.

Lead me. Reward me.

And I will then...do it automatically.

I am your servant.

I am a habit.

Freedom - Deliverance Ministry moments

* A man who had talked to the star, hearing its voice to follow it for a while, got delivered yesterday. The voice of those who chased after him and threatened him was gone. He also testified that the animals, something in his stomach were gone. He feels much better and calm after accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Jesus delivered him out of darkness into the kingdom.

* A woman was delivered from tremendous guilt and shame. Looking for love in all the wrong places, she found the love of God and the forgiveness of Jesus Christ today. What a change right after the laying of hands and prayer for healing and deliverance. You can see almost an instant change on her body and facial expressions. The name of Jesus is powerful.

True Freedom

TRUE FREEDOM

To laugh is to risk appearing the fool.

To weep is to risk being called sentimental.

To reach out to another is to risk involvement.

To expose feelings is to risk showing your true self.

To place your ideas and your dreams before a crowd is to risk being called naive.

To love is to risk not being loved in return.

To live is to risk dying.

To hope is to risk despair, and to try is to risk failure.

But risks must be taken, because the greatest risk in life is to risk nothing.

The person who risks nothing, does nothing, has nothing, is nothing, and becomes nothing. He may avoid suffering and sorrow, but he simply cannot learn and feel and change and grow and love and live. Chained by things that are certain, he is a slave. He has forfeited his freedom. Only the person who risks is truly free.

Martin Luther King, Jr. risked everything to stand up for what he believed in to help make a better tomorrow. From his nonviolent protests, speeches, holding demonstrations and his dream for an equal society he put every effort forth to make sure that everyone would be treated equally.

Deliverance ministry moments

Dear pastors:

To encourage your hearts, I just want to share with you what the Lord is doing here in Houston so that we can all give praise to the Lord.

First, yesterday, I had a chance to work with pastor Steven Nguyen and Mr. Duc who are from pastor Khanh Huynh's church to come and help this new believer to take down, clean up his altar of idols and other gods and things related to his former spiritism.

I never see this much trash before in my life that we had helped him clean up all the things that held him hostage in darkness for almost 20 years.

After the pulling down of the altar, the cleaning up then our deliverance ministry team helps him bind the spirits, cast out demons and many spirits had come out of him. There was green snake; dead spirits in him coming out; spirit of death came out and many more.

We give thanks to God for His power to deliver this soul. More prayer of deliverance today is done by pastor Khanh Huynh that I had a chance to witness more demons coming out of him. The man bent over, twisted his body, and vomited things out as his hand moved back and forth. What a sight. What a blessing. Our God is able and willing to save and to deliver troubled souls.

We give thanks to God for He is great.

Praying the Word

Arteries and Cells

In Jesus’ name, my arteries, will not shrink or become clogged. Arteries, you are clean, elastic and function as God created you to function. (Luke 17:6; Mark 11:23; Isa. 55:11; James 3:2-5)

The law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death; therefore, I will not allow sin, sickness or death to lord it over me. (Roman 8:2; 6:13, 14)

The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in me, permeating His life through my veins, sending healing throughout my body. (Rom. 8:11)

In Jesus’ name I forbid my body to be deceived in any manner. Body, you will not be deceived by any virus or disease germ. Neither will you work against life or health in any way. Every cell of my body supports life and health. (Matt. 12:25; 35a)

Immune System

My immune system grows stronger day by day. I speak life to my immune system. I forbid confusion in my immune system. The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in me and quickens my immune system with the life and wisdom of God, which guards the life and health of my body.

Healthy Bones and Marrow

I speak to the bones and joints of my body. I call you normal in Jesus’ name. My bones and joints will not respond to any disease; for the Spirit life of I Peter 2:24 permeates every bone and joint of my body with life and health.

Father, I make a demand on my bones to produce perfect marrow. I make a demand on the marrow to produce pure blood that will ward off sickness and disease. My bones refuse any offense of the curse. (Proverb 16:24)

I make a demand on my joints to function perfectly. There will be no pain or swelling in my joints. My joints refuse to allow anything that will hurt or destroy their normal function. (Proverb 17:22)

Enforcing Life

Body, I speak the Word of Faith to you. I demand that every internal organ perform a perfect work, for you are the temple of the Holy Ghost; therefore, I charge you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the authority of His holy Word to be healed and made whole in Jesus’ name. (Proverb 12:18)

Father, I resist the enemy in every form that he comes against me-I require my body to be strong and healthy, and I enforce it with your Word. I reject the curse, and I enforce life in this body. (James 4:7)

I will not die but live and declare the works of God. (Ps. 118:17)

You have forgiven all my iniquities; you have healed all my diseases; you have redeemed my life from destruction; you have satisfied my mouth with good things so that my youth is renewed as the eagles. (Ps. 103:2-5)

Lord, you have blessed my food and water and have taken sickness away from me. Therefore, I will fulfill the number of my days in health. (Exodus 23:25, 26)

5. Understanding the Principle

Have faith to call things that are not! Call it into reality by mixing faith with God’s Word. Abraham, father of nations/multitude.

17As it is written: "I have made you a father of many nations."[c] He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed—the God who gives life to the dead and calls things that are not as though they were. 18Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, "So shall your offspring be."[d] 19Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead—since he was about a hundred years old—and that Sarah's womb was also dead. 20Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, 21being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised. 22This is why "it was credited to him as righteousness."

God uses spiritual forces which are not seen to nullify natural things that are seen.

27But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 28He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, I Cor. 1:27-28

13It is written: "I believed; therefore I have spoken."[b]With that same spirit of faith we also believe and therefore speak, II Cor. 4:13

17 I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the LORD has done. Psalm 118:17

We should declare to ourselves what God’s Word reveals about us, regardless of the circumstances or how we feel about it. The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth and in thy heart. God’s Word becomes engrafted into your heart as you speak it.

6But the righteousness that is by faith says: "Do not say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?'[b]" (that is, to bring Christ down) 7"or 'Who will descend into the deep?'[c]" (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8But what does it say? "The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,"[d] that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: 9That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. Roman 10:6-10

13Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree."[f] 14He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit. Galatians 3:13-14

13For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, 14in whom we have redemption,[e] the forgiveness of sins. Col. 1:13

God has also given you all things that pertain to life and godliness. I am healed by the stripes of Jesus. When you are sick and confess that you are healed by the stripes of Jesus, you are calling for what God has already given you, even though it is not yet manifest.

3His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 4Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. II Peter 1:3-4

There is no power in denying that sickness exists. The power is in calling for healing and health by mixing faith with God’s Word.

24He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been (were) healed.” I Peter 2:24.

Notice it is past tense as far as God is concerned, but not yet manifest in your body.

You are calling your body well according to Luke 17:5, 6 and Mark 11:23. Your body is listening to you and it will obey you if you believe and doubt not in your heart.

5The apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith!" 6He replied, "If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, 'Be uprooted and planted in the sea,' and it will obey you. Luke 17:5, 6

22"Have[f] faith in God," Jesus answered. 23"I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. 24Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Mark 11:22-24

Don’t call things that are, the way they are. By doing this you are establishing the present condition or circumstance in your heart, mind and also in the body. Don’t get upset and say, “That just burns me up.” “Every time I eat that, it makes me sick,” “My back is just killing me,” “Those kids make me so nervous,” or “I’m trying to take the flu.”

13For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, 14because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. Romans 8:13-14

Your body will respond to the demands of the human spirit. So choose your words carefully.

A Neurosurgeon said, “Talk to Your Body to Rid Ills”. Tell your pancreas to secrete insulin. Tell your blood pressure to be 120 over 80. It is not necessary to make your confessions before others-make them to yourself in your own prayer time as you fellowship with the Lord. No, it won’t happen just because you say it, but saying it is involved in causing it to happen. Saying it is the way you plant the seed for what you need. The spoken Word of God imparts spirit life into your physical body.

63The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit[e] and they are life. John 6:63. God’s Word is incorruptible seed, and it produces after its kind.
Pray the Word over your body. Declare it to be true until you are fully persuaded. Your body will respond to your voice; how much more will it respond to God’s Word spoken in FAITH.

I have found this article on healing by the Word very helpful and insightful. I hope it helps you.

God's Medicine - Praying the Word

Growths, tumors, and arthritis

Jesus bore the curse for me; therefore, I forbid growths and tumors to inhabit my body. The life of God within me dissolves growths and tumors, and my strength and health are restored.

19I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be[f] bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be[g] loosed in heaven." Matthew 16:19

13And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. 14You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it. John 14:13-14; Mark 11:23

Growths and tumors have no right to my body. They are a thing of the past for I am delivered from the authority of darkness.

13For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, 14in whom we have redemption,[e] the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:13-14

Every organ and tissue of my body functions in the perfection that God created it to function. I forbid any malfunction in my body in Jesus’ name.

28 God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground." 31 God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day. Genesis 1:28, 31

Father, Your Word has become a part of me. It is flowing in my bloodstream. It flows to every cell of my body, restoring and transforming my body. Your Word has become flesh; for You sent Your Word and healed me. (James 1:21; Ps. 107:20; Prov. 13:3)

Your Word is manifest in my body, causing growths to disappear. Arthritis is a thing of the past. I make a demand on my bones and joints to function properly in Jesus’ name. (Mark 11:23; Matt. 17:20)

Heavenly Father, as I give voice to Your Word, the law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus makes me free from the law of sin and death. And your Life is energizing every cell of my body.

11And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you. Romans 8:11

Arthritis, you must GO! Sicknesses must FLEE. Tumors cannot exist in me, for the Spirit of God is upon me and the Word of God is within me. Sickness, fear and oppression have no power over me for God’s Word is my confession. (Mark 11:23)

Heart and Blood

Thank you Father that I have a strong heart. My heart beats with the rhythm of life. My blood flows to every cell of my body restoring life and health abundantly.

14 From the fruit of his lips a man is filled with good things as surely as the work of his hands rewards him. Prov. 12:14

30 A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones. Prov. 14:30

My blood pressure is 120 over 80. The life of God flows in my blood and cleanses my arteries of all matter that does not pertain to life. (Mark 11:23)

My heart beat is normal. My heart beats with the rhythm of life. My blood flows to every cell of my body restoring life and health abundantly.

23I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. John 17:23

22And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit. Eph. 2:22

I have a strong heart. Every heart beat floods my body with life and cleanses me of disease and pain.

25 Worship the LORD your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you, 26 and none will miscarry or be barren in your land. I will give you a full life span. Ex. 23:25; Mark 11:23

I command my blood cells to destroy every disease germ and virus that tries to inhabit my body. I command every cell of my body to be normal in Jesus’ name.

17For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ. Romans 5:17

6He replied, "If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, 'Be uprooted and planted in the sea,' and it will obey you. Luke 17:6

Every cell that does not promote life and health in my body is cut off from its life source. My immune system will not allow tumorous growth to life in my body in Jesus’ name. (Luke 17:6; Mark 11:23)

I am redeemed from the curse of the law and my heart beats with the rhythm of life. The Spirit and life of God’s Word flows in me cleansing my blood of every disease and impurity. (Pro. 4:20-23)

God's Medicine

4. God’s Medicine

Pray the Word three times a day until faith comes. “Jesus is the Lord of my life. Sickness and disease have no power over me. I am forgiven and free from sin and guilt. I am dead to sin and alive unto righteousness.”

21Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of[f] your evil behavior. 22But now he has reconciled you by Christ's physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation— Colossians 1:21-22

I am free from unforgiveness and strife. I forgive others as Christ has forgiven me, for the love of God is shed abroad in my heart by the Holy Ghost.

12Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. Matthew 6:12
5And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. Romans 5:5

Jesus bore my sins in His body on the tree; therefore I am dead to sin and alive unto God and by His stripes I am healed and made whole.

24He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed. I Peter 2:24

11In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Romans 6:11

21God made him who had no sin to be sin[a] for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. II Corinthians 5:21

Jesus bore my sickness and carried my pain. Therefore I give no place to sickness or pain. For God sent His Word and healed me.

20 He sent forth his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave. Psalm 107:20

Father, because of Your Word I am an overcomer. I overcome the world, the flesh and the devil, by the Blood of the Lamb and the word of my testimony.

4You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. I John 4:4

11They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death. Revelation 12:11

You have given me abundant life. I receive that life through Your Word, and it flows to every organ of my body bringing healing and health.

10The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. John 10:10

63The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit[e] and they are life. John 6:63

Heavenly Father, I attend to your Word. I incline my ears to Your sayings. I will not let them depart from my eyes. I keep them in the midst of my heart, for they are life and healing to all my flesh.

20 My son, pay attention to what I say; listen closely to my words. 21 Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; 22 for they are life to those who find them and health to a man's whole body. 23 Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life. Proverbs 4:20-23

As God was with Moses, so is He with me. My eyes are not dim; neither are my natural forces abated. Blessed are my eyes for they see and my ears, for they hear.

7 Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died, yet his eyes were not weak nor his strength gone. Deuteronomy 34:7

No evil will befall me, neither shall any plague come near my dwelling. For you have given your angels charge over me. They keep me in all my ways. In my pathway is life, healing and health.

9 If you make the Most High your dwelling—even the LORD, who is my refuge- 10 then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. 11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; Psalm 91:9-11

28 In the way of righteousness there is life; along that path is immortality. Proverb 12:28

Jesus took my infirmities and bore my sicknesses. Therefore I refuse to allow sickness to dominate my body. The Life of God flows within me bringing healing to every fiber of my being.

16When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick. 17This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: “He took up our infirmities and carried our diseases."[c] Matthew 8:16-17

63The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit[e] and they are life. John 6:63

I am redeemed from the curse. Galatians 3:13 is flowing in my blood stream. It flows to every cell of my body, restoring life and health.

13Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree."[f] Galatians 3:13

22"Have[f] faith in God," Jesus answered. 23"I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Mark 11:22-23

6He replied, "If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, 'Be uprooted and planted in the sea,' and it will obey you. Luke 17:6

The life of I Peter 2:24 is a reality in my flesh, restoring every cell of my body.

24He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed. I Peter 2:24

I present my body to God for it is the temple of the Living God. God dwells in me and his life permeates my spirit, soul and body so that I am filled with the fullness of God daily.

1Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual[a] act of worship. 2Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:1-2
20On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. John 14:20

My body is the temple of the Holy Ghost. I make a demand on my body to release the right chemicals. My body is in perfect chemical balance. My pancreas secretes the proper amount of insulin for life and health.

19Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body. I Corinthians 6:19-20

Heavenly Father, through your Word you have imparted your life to me. That life restores my body with every breath I breathe and every word I speak. (John 6:63; Mark 11:23)

That which God has not planted is dissolved and rooted out of my body in Jesus’ name. I Peter 2:24 is engrafted into every fiber of my being and I am alive with the life of God. (Mark 11:23; John 6:63)

Bowing before the altar

Dear pastors:

Recently, while talking to a dear Christian who happened to attend a 2008 Christmas service in Pomona, CA, and the person asked a question about a UMC pastor's gesture or act of walking toward, stopping, and bowing down before the altar of the UMC; and I immediately encouraged the person to call and ask the pastor directly. He has not had the courage to ask yet. So I told him maybe the pastor was showing reverence to God during the service.

It was a gesture I had seen done before, but I had never given any more thought about it until yesterday. I have searched my heart and asked myself:

Are we to bow before the altar? Is it about the lights, the Bible?
Are we teaching our church members to bow before the altar to show reverence to God?
Why did we do it? Is this a Methodist tradition? Should it be practiced among UM churches?
Is God sitting on the altar there? Is God's presence revealed there?
What is the theology behind this practice?
What are we communicating to our church members or unbelievers who attended our service?

What is the Spirit of God saying to us, to the church of Jesus Christ today? He's coming to prepare the church for the coming of the Lord. No more church as usual as we invited Jesus to stand in a corner or outside the door until we've done our rituals and preached our sermons and made our altar calls. He is calling us to experience His presence, see His glory revealed and experience His power to save, to heal and to deliver.

Oh how powerful are the Methodist pastors and/or the committees are. We have control and allow God to do a certain things in the church.
Until when will the Spirit of God be allowed to freely stir our hearts, quicken our minds, revive our spirits and empower us to dwell and to experience God's presence and power?

God's Creative Power for Healing

3. God’s Word Is Medicine

God’s Word is medicine to all our flesh.

Healing is a fact as far as God is concerned.

20 He sent forth his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave. Psalm 107:20

4 Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted. 5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. 6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53:4-6

24He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed. I Peter 2:24

If you need a doctor, see a doctor. If you need an operation, have an operation and believe God for a quick recovery. Medicines are beneficial in aiding the body’s healing process. However, take medicine with faith saying: “I believe I receive my healing in Jesus’ name.” Medicines may have many side effects. Learn to appropriate healing by making the Word a part of our daily vocabulary. Operate on your level of faith, but don’t stay on that level forever. Develop faith in God’s Word.

It takes time to develop your faith. Confess God’s Word audibly with authority over your body two or three times a day.

11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. Isaiah 55:11

18 I have seen his ways, but I will heal him; I will guide him and restore comfort to him, 19 creating praise on the lips of the mourners in Israel. Peace, peace, to those far and near," says the LORD. "And I will heal them." Isaiah 57:18-19

Return God’s Word to Him. How?

We are to return His Word by giving VOICE to it, and he will create the fruit of our lips. Let God’s Word be LIFE to you and HEALTH to your flesh.

The Impact of One Life

When a stone is dropped into a lake,
it quickly disappears from sight-
but its impact leaves behind
a series of ripples that broaden
and reach across the water.
In the same way, the impact
of one life lived for Christ
will leave behind an influence
for good that will reach the
lives of many others.

As the day progresses today...

Which impact did we leave behind today?
How did we make our life count today?

Don't Quit

Don’t Quit

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won if he'd stuck it out.
Don't give up, though the pace seems slow -
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man;
Often the struggler has given up
When he might have captured the victor's cup,
And he learned too late, when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out -
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are -
It may be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit -
It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit.

The Strangest Secret

The Strangest Secret (excerpt) by Earl Nightingale

George Bernard Shaw said, “People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don’t believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and if they can’t find them, they make them.”

Well, it’s pretty apparent, isn’t it? And every person who discovered this believed (for a while) that he was the first one to work it out. We become what we think about.

Conversely, the person who has no goal, who doesn’t know where he’s going, and whose thoughts must therefore be thoughts of confusion, anxiety and worry – his life becomes one of frustration, fear, anxiety and worry. And if he thinks about nothing… he becomes nothing. How does it work?

Why do we become what we think about? Well, I’ll tell you how it works, as far as we know. To do this, I want to tell you about a situation that parallels the human mind.

Suppose a farmer has some land, and it’s good, fertile land. The land gives the farmer a choice; he may plant in that land whatever he chooses. The land doesn’t care. It’s up to the farmer to make the decision.

We’re comparing the human mind with the land because the mind, like the land, doesn’t care what you plant in it. It will return what you plant, but it doesn’t care what you plant. Now, let’s say that the farmer has two seeds in his hand- one is a seed of corn, the other is nightshade, a deadly poison. He digs two little holes in the earth and he plants both seeds-one corn, the other nightshade. He covers up the holes, waters and takes care of the land…and what will happen?

Invariably, the land will return what was planted. As it’s written in the Bible, “As ye sow, so shall ye reap.” Remember the land doesn’t care. It will return poison in just as wonderful abundance as it will corn. So up come the two plants - one corn, one poison.

The human mind is far more fertile, far more incredible and mysterious than the land, but it works the same way. It doesn’t care what we plant… success...or failure. A concrete, worthwhile goal…or confusion, misunderstanding, fear, anxiety and so on. But what we plant it must return to us.

You see, the human mind is the last great unexplored continent on earth. It contains riches beyond our wildest dreams. It will return anything we want to plant.

***
As I welcome the New Year with great excitement and anticipation of a lot of personal growth, I can't help but think about what I am going to feed my mind with this year. What am I going to allow to come inside my mind and grow there? I have to choose carefully what I allow to come in and take root in my mind and in my heart.

What do you plant this year?

Definitely, we will work hard yet wait patiently; harvest time will come in its due season. We shall reap what we sow.

God's Creative Power for Healing - The Word

2. Divine Healing Is a Spiritual Cure

9However, as it is written: “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him"[b]— 10but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. 11For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man's spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. 12We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us. I Cor. 2:9-12

19 Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. 20 He sent forth his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave. Psalm 107:19-20

20 My son, pay attention to what I say; listen closely to my words. 21 Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; 22 for they are life to those who find them and health to a man's whole body. 23 Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life. 24 Put away perversity from your mouth; keep corrupt talk far from your lips. Proverbs 4:20-24

God’s Word is LIFE, HEALTH, and Medicine to all your flesh. God’s Word will heal your body through spiritual means, the WORD. Receive God’s Word concerning healing into your spirit for supernatural healing.

7 The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul. The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple. Psalm 19:7

You must speak God’s Word to your individual circumstances or situation-someone else can’t do it for you.

21Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you. James 1:21

Receive God’s Word with meekness which can save your souls.

7If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. John 15:7

Abide in God’s Word. Let the Word become flesh in you. When God’s Word concerning healing takes root in your flesh, it becomes greater than disease and healing is the result.

35The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. 36But I tell you that men will have to give account on the Day of Judgment for every careless word they have spoken. 37For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned." Matthew 12:35-37

When your speak God’s Word from your heart, then faith gives substance to the promises of God. The worlds were framed by the Word of God.

3By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible. Hebrew 11:3

When the Word is engrafted into you it infuses its life into you.

63The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit[e] and they are life. John 6:63

11And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you. Roman 8:11

Faith Possesses Reality. The woman with the issue of blood continued to speak until she saw herself well.

25And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years. 26She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse. 27When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, 28because she thought (for she kept saying, the Amplified Bible), "If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed." 29Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering. Mark 5:25-29

She was filing her hope with a faith image. She set her own point of contact to receive her healing. Her words penetrated her spirit and she began to see herself well. Her faith filled words and her touch of faith made a demand on the covenant of God and the anointing that was upon Jesus. Faith gave substance to her hope and healing was manifested in her body.

1Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. 2This is what the ancients were commended for. Hebrew 11:1

Her hope was to be healed, but hope didn’t heal her. Faith gave substance to her hope.

The Bible principle of believing and calling for things that are not yet manifest.

23" 'If you can'?" said Jesus. "Everything is possible for him who believes." 24Immediately the boy's father exclaimed, "I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!" 25When Jesus saw that a crowd was running to the scene, he rebuked the evil[a] spirit. "You deaf and mute spirit," he said, "I command you, come out of him and never enter him again." 26The spirit shrieked, convulsed him violently and came out. The boy looked so much like a corpse that many said, "He's dead." 27But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him to his feet, and he stood up. Mark 9:23-27

6He replied, "If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, 'Be uprooted and planted in the sea,' and it will obey you. Luke 17:6

36Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him."[l] John 3:36

25And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins."[g] Mark 11:22-25

Giving voice to your faith in God’s Word can also make you whole.

“Daughter, Thy Faith hath made thee whole” Mark 5:34

**
The Word has become alive, reviving our souls when we read and believe and apply the Word in our life.

How often have we heard these passages read?
How often have we believed and applied these passages in our daily life?
How often have we experienced the power of the Word in our daily life?

God's Creative Power for Healing

God’s Creative Power for Healing
By Charles Capps

God’s Word is supernatural. Mixing faith with God’s Word by speaking it out of your mouth is a means of applying God’s medicine.

1. Building Blocks of Life and Death

Your words are building blocks of which you construct your life and future. Your words set the cornerstones of your life, and you live within the confines of that boundary you create with your own words. Situations, circumstances and conditions are all subject to change, but with the support of your words you can establish them in your life forever.

How do you respond to this question, “Is your health excellent, good, fair or poor?”

21 The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit. Proverb 18:21

45The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks. Luke 6:45

2We all stumble in many ways. If anyone is never at fault in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to keep his whole body in check. 3When we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we can turn the whole animal. 4Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go. 5Likewise the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. 6The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell. 7All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and creatures of the sea are being tamed and have been tamed by man, 8but no man can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. James 3:2-8
