God's Creative Power for Healing

God’s Creative Power for Healing
By Charles Capps

God’s Word is supernatural. Mixing faith with God’s Word by speaking it out of your mouth is a means of applying God’s medicine.

1. Building Blocks of Life and Death

Your words are building blocks of which you construct your life and future. Your words set the cornerstones of your life, and you live within the confines of that boundary you create with your own words. Situations, circumstances and conditions are all subject to change, but with the support of your words you can establish them in your life forever.

How do you respond to this question, “Is your health excellent, good, fair or poor?”

21 The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit. Proverb 18:21

45The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks. Luke 6:45

2We all stumble in many ways. If anyone is never at fault in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to keep his whole body in check. 3When we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we can turn the whole animal. 4Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go. 5Likewise the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. 6The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell. 7All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and creatures of the sea are being tamed and have been tamed by man, 8but no man can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. James 3:2-8

Words and their effects on you and your health

28 What you decide on will be done, and light will shine on your ways. Job 22:28

7 A fool's mouth is his undoing, and his lips are a snare to his soul. Proverbs 18:7

23"I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. 24Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Mark 11:23-24

9 In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps. Proverbs 16:9

20 From the fruit of his mouth a man's stomach is filled; with the harvest from his lips he is satisfied. 21 The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit. Proverbs 18:20-21

6The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell. James 3:6

23 He who guards his mouth and his tongue keeps himself from calamity. Proverbs 21:23

17 I was enraged by his sinful greed; I punished him, and hid my face in anger, yet he kept on in his willful ways. 18 I have seen his ways, but I will heal him; I will guide him and restore comfort to him, 19 creating praise on the lips of the mourners in Israel. Peace, peace, to those far and near," says the LORD. "And I will heal them." Isaiah 57:17-19

11 The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life, but violence overwhelms the mouth of the wicked. Proverbs 10:11

6 The words of the wicked lie in wait for blood, but the speech of the upright rescues them. Proverbs 12:6

14 From the fruit of his lips a man is filled with good things as surely as the work of his hands rewards him. 18 Reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. Proverbs 12:14, 18

3 He who guards his lips guards his life, but he who speaks rashly will come to ruin. Proverbs 13:3

3 A fool's talk brings a rod to his back, but the lips of the wise protect them. Proverbs 14:3

1 A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. 2 The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but the mouth of the fool gushes folly. Proverbs 15:1-2

4 The tongue that brings healing is a tree of life, but a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit. Proverbs 15:4

23 A wise man's heart guides his mouth, and his lips promote instruction. [b] 24 Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones. Proverbs 16:23-24
